Canadian Stock Trading Facts

The Canadian Stock Exchange, actually called the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) is located in Toronto. It is run by a for-profit corporation and trades under the symbol “X”.

The TSX provides easy access for Canadians who want to trade a wide variety of national and international stocks but don’t want to be bothered with international money conversion or dealing with the legal complexities of trading on the U.S. exchanges.

The TSX dates back to July 26, 1852 and has grown to become the seventh largest in the world with over 1,000 public companies traded every business day.
